Green Technologies: Pittsburgh's Green Electrician
South Hills Electric, LLC, headquartered in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania, recognizes the benefits of green technology. We are a partner with Energy Star because we want to provide our customers with the most current energy-saving products and service techniques available.
By now, most people know about programmable thermostats and energy-saving light bulbs (the ones that look like a corkscrew). Did you know that many electrical supply companies now offer smart devices such as smart electrical outlets, smart electrical switches and smart electrical strips?
When it comes to green energy, the key components are education and implementation. At South Hills Electric, LLC, we are constantly monitoring and researching opportunities to save our customers money. An electrical service upgrade or whole-house rewire job can pay for itself if put into service in conjunction with an energy savings plan. This is not only a value to our customers, but it is also a value to us. Oh, did I mention the impact on our planet?
Cutting-edge green technologies are now being supported from all sides of the equation. In President Obama’s 2009 Economic Stimulus Package, the energy tax credit was raised to $1500 for the tax years 2009 and 2010. This is a 300% increase over the $500 it was in the past. This tax credit is based on installation of more energy-efficient products, such as high-efficiency furnaces, boilers, water heaters and air conditioning units. In addition to these products, geothermal heat pumps, solar water heaters and solar panels allow for an unlimited tax write-off through the year2016.
Going green is the way of the future. Help us embrace this by developing and following an energy savings plan for installations of all new equipment. It makes sense. It saves money. It is the right thing to do, now and for the future.
Since 1993, South Hills Electric, LLC has provided first class design and installation of electrical, heating, and cooling systems in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the surrounding communities.
