Loss of Electricity
If you lose power in your home, there are two possible reasons:
1) The first likely reason is that one of the breakers has been tripped. The best way to check if a breaker has been tripped is to remove the panel's cover and test the heat of every breaker terminal. Another way to check for a tripped breaker is to push all the breakers to the "off" position, then click them back to the "on" position.
2) If the breakers are not tripped and you still have loss of power, consider the reason to be a tripped GFI. A ground-fault interrupter (GFI), which can be found in bathrooms, garages, kitchens, dining rooms, panties, crawl spaces, in basements and other rarely used outlets, can be reset by pushing the "test" button on the GFI outlet.
