Loss of Electricity

If you lose power to several electrical items in your home there are two possible reasons.

The first reason would be that one of the breakers has been tripped. The best way to check if a breaker has been tripped would be to remove the panels cover and test the hotness of every breaker terminal. Another way to check for a tripped breaker is to push all the breakers to the "off" position then click it back to the "on" position.

If the breakers are not or no longer tripped and you still have loss of power than consider the reason to be a tripped GFI. A Ground-fault interrupter (GFI), which could be found in bathrooms, garages, kitchens, dining rooms, panties, crawl spaces, in basements, and other rarely used outlets, could be reset by pushing the "test" button on the GFI outlet.
